The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Francophone University Agency (AUF) have discussed cooperation to promote scientific Francophonie in Cambodia (la Francophonie scientifique au Cambodge).
The discussion took place between H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, and Prof. Nicolas Mainetti, Regional Director of AUF for the Asia-Pacific, in Phnom Penh, on Sept. 19.
Prof. Nicolas Mainetti thanked H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona for her support and sought her input for the successful dissemination of the scientific Francophonie in Cambodia.
H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona spoke highly of AFU’s cooperation with Cambodia’s Francophone universities on knowledge sharing, especially through the establishment of knowledge competition programmes, dissemination workshops, as well as the provision of scholarships to Cambodian students to study in the country and France.
Cambodia will join the 19th Francophone Summit in France in October 2024, during which the final decision on Cambodia’s candidac
y to host the 20th Francophone Summit in 2026 will be made.
