Ministry and KAA Partner to Mainstream Gender Equality


Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Women’s Affairs and the Khmer Artists Association (KAA) join hands to promote the values of women and gender equality in Cambodia to ensure that today’s youth live in a happy society, free from rights abuses and violence.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the partnership was discussed in a meeting between H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, the Minister of Women’s Affairs, and Oknha Mao Chamnan, KAA President, on Jan. 30. Oknha Mao Chamnan reaffirmed her association’s commitment to working with the ministry through a special working group.



H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi appreciated the leadership of Oknha Mao Chamnan in mainstreaming gender value in the preservation and development of the Khmer artists’ strategic activities. The mission of the association is well in line with the objectives of the National Committee on the promotion of Social Morality, Women and Family Values, aimed to promote social morality and happiness in the family by promoting the status, role, and well-being of Khmer women, added the minister.
