Minister: Youth with Clean Inside and Outside Are Potential Assets

A role model youth that can effectively campaign for a clean Cambodia is the one who is clean both inside and outside, said the Minister of Environment.

H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth highlighted the message when addressing the opening of the workshop on environmental youths in eliminating illicit drug use and ending HIV/AIDS in Cambodia at the ministry on Oct. 23.

Youths play an important role in changing public behaviour to better appreciate and contribute to a clean and healthy environment and society, he added.

For that, the youths need to be clean from within, meaning they have to stay away from drug use, HIV/AIDS, and other harmful practices and set a good example of being healthy physically and mentally.

The minister continued that from there, youths can lead the rest by habituating a clean lifestyle for themselves, their families, their communities, and the society, and inspire others to make Cambodia clean for all, in line with the government’s Environmental Chakra Strategy’s pillars: clean, green, an
d sustainable.

Environment is everyone’s issue, and it needs the participation of people from all walks of life to promote it, and youths of potential are encouraged to help promote the movement.

Taking the opportunity, H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth thanked youth for their contribution to the making of clean Cambodia and called on their continued efforts to make the campaign a success.
