Lao PDR Prime Minister Begins Official Visit to Cambodia.


Phnom Penh: Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, H.E. Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE, commenced his two-day official visit to Cambodia today. The visit comes at the invitation of Samdech Maha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Lao Premier and his spouse, Madam Vandala SIPHANDONE, received a warm welcome on their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport. They were greeted by H.E. Keo Rottanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, and other senior officials.

H.E. Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE and Madam will be granted an audience with His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet Samdech Akka Maha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei KHUON Sudary, President of the National Assembly.

A key component of the visit is a bilateral meeting with Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister at
the Peace Palace. The two leaders are set to discuss enhancing relations and expanding cooperation between the two nations, focusing on good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, and a long-lasting strategic partnership. They will also exchange views on regional and international issues and oversee the signing of cooperative documents.

During his visit, H.E. Prime Minister of the Lao PDR will pay homage at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK, the late King-Father of Cambodia.

The MFAIC emphasized that the official visit will strengthen the traditional friendship and expand cooperation in various fields between Laos and Cambodia.
