Koh Kong Hosts Coastal Festival to Bring in More Tourists

Koh Kong: Koh Kong has hosted a coastal festival to pitch its tourism potential and attract more investors to the coastal province. Koh Kong Deputy Provincial Governor H.E. Orn Sothearith underlined the objective when addressing the opening of the event on Saturday. He urged a collective effort of all stakeholders, especially the public and private sectors, to continue promoting the richness of the provincial tourism as its main road infrastructure is being completed.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the two-day second Coastal Festival was organised by the Dara Sakor Resort, which is a project under the Coastal City Development Group, or CoastalCity. CoastalCity CEO Mr. Li Mengchen was very positive that the Coastal Festival will contribute to accelerating tourism in Koh Kong, with which more investors will come and the local economy will accordingly grow.

In addition, Mr. Chea Tech Hok, Director of Public Relations of the Department of CoastalCity, stated that besides the Dara Sakor resort, his company invests in other projects, including the Dara Sakor International Airport and a deep-sea port development to uplift the province’s potential, especially tourism.

In 2024, Cambodia’s tourism made US$3.66 billion in revenue, an increase of about 18 percent compared with 2023, and the country targeted 7.5 million foreign tourists for 2025.
