Kampong Phluk Emerges as Natural Tourism Hub in Siem Reap Province.


Kampong Phluk: Kampong Phluk community, located in Kampong Phluk commune, Bakong district is a potential natural tourism destination in Siem Reap province. On the afternoon of Nov. 10, H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, visited the Kampong Phluk ecotourism community. The visit was attended by representatives from the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, local authorities, the CATA association, and community members, totaling 70 participants.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during this visit, H.E. Minister inquired about the well-being of the local population, site-visited the actual conditions of the Kampong Phluk natural tourism destination, the infrastructure supporting tourism activities and the surrounding environment, and listened to the challenges and requests raised by the community leader, the commune chief, and boat operators – most of them are women. The goal was to explore joint solutions to attract more domestic and international tourists to visit Kampong Phluk, the source stressed.

It is
important to highlight that at Kampong Phluk, tourists can experience the daily life of local people along the banks of the Tonle Sap river, see tall houses built on the water, enjoy boat tours through the village, explore flooded forests, admire the vast expanse of the Tonle Sap river, dine at floating restaurants, and observe aquafarming, with the added beauty of stunning sunset views over the Tonle Sap river.
