Japan to Continue Supporting Cambodia’s Education

Japan is committed to continue supporting Cambodia’s education sector, especially the scholarship programme under the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development (JDS).

The commitment was made by H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia in a meeting with H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports here at the ministry early this week.

H.E. UENO Atsushi said Cambodia and Japan are good partners and thanked the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for productive cooperation with Japan in Cambodian youth’s capacity development.

The Japanese diplomate also congratulated Cambodia on the successful hosting of the 32nd SEA Games with many medals earned.

H.E. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of the Government of Japan’s contribution to Cambodia’s education development.

He highlighted Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s assistance in developing Phnom Penh and Battambang Pedagogical Institutes, which are leading educational establishments in Cambodia currently.
