Phnom Penh: Jahoo, a community-owned ecotourism enterprise, has been selected by a jury panel under EXO Foundation’s ‘Sustainability Awards’ taking place on Dec. 4 for nomination under Planet – Non Profit/social enterprise Category, said WCS Cambodia in a recent news release. This nomination places Jahoo amongst the top organisations working towards a more sustainable and responsible future in the tourism sector across Asia, the source underlined.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this nomination has also allowed Jahoo to compete for the People’s Choice prize, which is determined by public vote up until Nov. 25 and will be announced at the online award ceremony on Dec. 4. Voting for Jahoo can be done through the provided link.
Jahoo is known for providing wildlife-friendly employment, motivating community-led conservation, and supporting sustainable social improvements with the endangered southern yellow-cheeked crested gibbon as its flagship species. It operates exclusive tours to the core of Keo Seima
Wildlife Sanctuary, noted for being a stronghold for endangered primates such as the black-shanked douc langur and intact semi-evergreen rainforest.
