Islam-Buddhism Summit to Convene in Cambodia This Week


Phnom Penh: The Muslim World League is set to host an Islam-Buddhism Summit in Cambodia on February 27, 2025, at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel. The summit, which aims to foster dialogue and understanding between Islam and Buddhism, will see its opening ceremony presided over by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, as announced on February 25 by H.E. Dr. Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Mission on Cambodian Islamic Affairs and a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the summit will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in cultivating a society characterized by peace and religious harmony. H.E. Dr. Othsman Hassan highlighted that the event would showcase Cambodia’s achievements in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups, offering valuable insights to other participating nations.



The summit is expected to draw approximately 200 foreign delegates from 35 countries, with an estimated total of 1,000 participants. The gathering underscores Cambodia’s commitment to leading discussions on global religious harmony and cooperation.
