Siem Reap: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) appreciates Cambodia’s demining experience sharing for the world’s benefit and vows to support landmine clearing missions in the country. ICRC Vice President Mr. Gilles Carbonnier highlighted the appreciation and support when received by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet for a bilateral meeting in Siem Reap province on Nov. 25, on the sidelines of the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit for a Mine-Free World.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ICRC vice president congratulated Cambodia for hosting a productive Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World wherein the demining experience of Cambodia was highly valued. He also reaffirmed the ICRC’s commitment to further strengthen and expand cooperation with the Cambodian government, including in achieving the country’s mine-free status ambition.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the ICRC vice president for the appreciation, underscoring that Cambodia was pleased to share
the experience for humanitarian benefit globally and looked forward to closer cooperation with the ICRC.
