Hun Sen Extends Condolences to Myanmar and Thailand Following Devastating Earthquake


Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s Acting Head of State, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, on Mar. 29 offered heartfelt condolences to top leaders of Myanmar and Thailand for the losses caused by the catastrophic earthquake in the two ASEAN countries.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Hun Sen extended his sympathy to H.E. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. He expressed his condolences on behalf of the Cambodian people, wishing for peace for the deceased and a swift recovery for the injured and affected.



Hun Sen also conveyed his condolences to H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, extending his sympathies to the bereaved families, the Royal Government, and the people of Thailand. He expressed confidence in Thailand’s recovery under Ms. Shinawatra’s leadership and the resilience of the Thai people.



A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Bangkok, Thailand, and central Myanmar on the afternoon of Mar. 28, causing many casualties and damage to property and infrastructure.
