Hanoi announces Public Administration Reform Index 2023Ministry of Labour Provides 545 Vocational Training Courses

Hanoi: Hanoi on February 20 announced the 2023 Public Administration Reform (PAR) Index of its departments, department-level agencies, and People’s Committees of districts and Son Tay township, with the Department of Home Affairs and Dong Da district taking the lead.

Specifically, the 2023 PAR Index of departments and department-level agencies averaged at 88.4%, up 2.7% against the previous year.

With 94%, the Department of Home Affairs ranked first, followed by the Department of Finance (93.89%) and the Department of Science and Technology (93%). The city Inspectorate reported the lowest index, at 63.9%.

Meanwhile, the average index of localities was 94%, up 1.26% year-on-year.

Dong Da district came first with 96.3%, followed by Nam Tu Liem and Hoan Kiem, both 95.7%, and Cau Giay (95.22%). Phu Xuyen district had the lowest index, at 91.61%./.

As of Feb. 18, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has provided 545 vocational training courses to 12,112 trainees from across Cambodia.

The update was shared by H.E. Kata Orn, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

He added that of the 545 courses, 125 are on construction, 8 on electricity and energy, 19 on electronics, 21 on manufacture, 85 on general and vehicle mechanics, 120 on business and IT, 35 on service, 66 on air and heat equipment, 41 on tourism, and 41 on agriculture and agro-industry.

The ministry has campaigned to attract youth to join the vocational training programmes via Facebook, Telegram, YouTube, and TikTok, as well as home visits to poor and vulnerable families.

The secretary of state appealed for more youth to sign up for the government-supported vocational training, reminding that the registration remains available via the “TVET 1.5M” mobile phone app, or they can register directly at the Institutes for Vocational Training

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet officially launched the technical and vocational training (TVET) programmes for 1.5 million youth from poor and vulnerable families on Nov. 14, 2023.
