French Journalist Appreciates Cambodia’s Environmental Management

A prominent journalist from Le Monde, a French daily afternoon newspaper, has appreciated Cambodia’s rapid development, particularly the management of natural resources and the environment.

The journalist Mr. Brice Pedroletti expressed his appreciation during a meeting with H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment in Phnom Penh, on Oct. 7.

H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth highly valued the appreciation and encouraged the journalist as well as other reporters to help disseminate the protection and conservation of natural resources and the environment to promote broader public awareness and engagement in the endeavour.

That will contribute to an effective implementation of the ministry’s Circular Strategy on Environment built on three pillars (clean, green, and sustainable) to increase Cambodia’s forest coverage for the country to be carbon neutral by 2050, said the minister.

He also briefed the journalist on the ministry’s campaign on ‘Today, I don’t Use Plastic Bags’ launched in 2023, attracting over 9.
5 million supporters and participants across Cambodia.
