Foreign Ministry Organises a Training Course on Cambodian Culinary Diplomacy

AKP Phnom Penh, September 19, 2024 – National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (NIDIR) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) is organising a Training Course on “Cambodian Culinary Diplomacy: Promoting Friendship and Cooperation Through Foods.”

Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister of MFAIC, presided over the opening ceremony of the training course held at NIDIR on Sept. 19.

The three-day course is held in collaboration with the Asia Foundation Cambodia in Phnom Penh capital and Kampot province.

In addition to promoting Khmer cuisine, the training aims to increase the knowledge of foreign diplomats stationed in Cambodia about the country’s food culture, especially with regard to the sophistication, distinctiveness, and innumerable legacies of the country’s millennium-old culinary heritage, according to the MFAIC.

The programme offers a fantastic chance to foster networking and friendships between the people of Cambodia and international
diplomats stationed there, added the same source.
