Five New JICA Volunteers Arrive in Cambodia

Five more JICA volunteers arrived in Cambodia on May. 15 and they will soon start Khmer language training before going to work in their respective fields, said a news release of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Cambodia Office.

They will be dispatched based on their specialties including Nursing in Svay Rieng Provincial Hospital, Total Quality Control in National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia, Early Childhood Education in Koh Kong province and Primary School Education in Banteay Meanchey and Siem Reap provinces.

The JICA’s Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) programme in Cambodia began in 1965, and some 800 volunteers have been so far dispatched.

‘JOCVs are always with Cambodia and the Cambodian people. Even under the Covid-19 pandemic, JICA continues to work together with the Cambodian people, and together we move forward the development of Cambodia,’ reaffirmed JICA.
