First Meeting of Inter-Ministerial Commission Assess Current Travel Facilitation Landscape in Cambodia


The Inter-Ministerial Commission for the Facilitation of Travel and Transportation of Tourists and Passengers at the International Border Gate and International Gateway Nationwide held here on Feb. 15 its first plenary meeting allowing the participants to assess the current travel facilitation landscape.

The first plenary meeting was chaired by H.E SOK Soken, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Commission.

According to a news release of the Ministry of Tourism, the meeting highlighted the importance of the mechanism of the Inter-Ministerial Commission in facilitating the travel and transportation of tourists and passengers at the international border gates and international gates across the country, especially contributing to strengthen the quality of tourist travel and increase the attractiveness of Cambodia as a warm tourist destination with good hospitality.

H.E. Minister emphasised the significance of this inaugural plenary meeting. It presents a unique and valuable opportunity fo
r all participants to collaboratively assess the current travel facilitation landscape.

The goal is to actively address any challenges or shortcomings that may arise. The ultimate aim is to generate innovative ideas and suggestions that will greatly enhance the convenience, safety, and overall hospitality of cross-border travel and travel within the Kingdom of Cambodia.
