The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) has pledged to continue strengthening and expanding its cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC).
The pledge was made by visiting Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe, President of ERIA, while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace here this afternoon.
ERIA will continue to focus on the framework of cooperation on promoting the development of Cambodia, especially on the industrial development plan and human resource development, he added.
Besides, Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe expressed his intention to invite Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, to be a special speaker at the ERIA School of Government to share Cambodia’s successful experience of peace process to the participants who are public officials. Cambodia’s success is also a contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region, he underlined.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet lauded the excell
ent cooperation between the RGC and ERIA, and highlighted the RGC’s continued attention to the development of human resources, connectivity infrastructure and the citizens’ production capacity, and vocational training to meet the current needs of Cambodia, particularly the needs of human resources in industrial sector.
The Premier also encouraged ERIA to continue to cooperate more closely with the RGC’s relevant ministries and institutions.
