DPM SOK Chenda Sophea Holds Separate Talks with Hungarian and Latvian Counterparts in New York

H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held separate talks with H.E. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; and H.E. Ms. Baiba Braže, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, at the UN headquarters in New York on Sept. 24, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

While meeting with his Hungarian counterpart, H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea expressed his high appreciation for the progress made in bilateral relations, highlighting the high-level exchange of visits and the convening of bilateral talks including the Joint Economic Committee, Bilateral Consultations, and the Consultative Session on the Peace Charter between the two National Assemblies of both countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

H.E. Péter Szijjártó expressed his sincere thanks and satisfaction for the close cooperation between the two countries, added the source.

fter the meeting, both sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange Programme on Higher Education between Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Hungary’s Ministry of Culture and Innovation for the years 2024-2029, the source added.

During the meeting between the Cambodian and Latvian foreign ministers, both sides exchanged views on how to further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and explore opportunities for cooperation in potential sectors of mutual interest.

The two foreign ministers also discussed cooperation under multilateral frameworks and regional and international issues of common interests and concerns.
