Director General of National Peacekeeping Centre Meets with Assigned Cambodian UN Peacekeepers

The First Vice Chair of the National Committee and Director General of the National Peacekeeping Centre meets with three chiefs of staff and an observer soldier deployed for the United Nations peacekeeping missions before their departure. During the meeting on July 25, General Sem Sovanny highly valued the assignment of the three chiefs of staff and the observer soldier and advised them to perform their duties in line with UN regulations. He also highlighted the importance of job ethics, integrity, and good cooperation with co-workers that the deployed chiefs of staff and the observer soldier need to fulfil. The chiefs of staff were assigned to carry out the UN peacekeeping mission in the Republic of South Sudan, while the observer soldier in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since 2006, Cambodia has deployed a total of 9,815 peacekeeping forces, 854 of whom are women, under the UN missions in ten countries.
