Siem Reap: A group of young cultural delegates from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam have continued their exploration of several significant sites within the Angkor complex, said the APSARA National Authority.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, their itinerary included visits to the Tonle Sngout Temple, the Leang Dai Watergate, and an opportunity to observe local agricultural practices in Leang Dai commune, including compost production, it pointed out. They also explored the Run Ta Ek area, further enriching their understanding of heritage management in the region.
The APSARA National Authority organised this workshop with support from the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund, aiming to share both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences related to conservation, management, and sustainable development at various heritage sites, including Angkor, Sambor Prei Kuk, and Koh Ker. The programme featured contributions from experts representing World Heritage Sites in Laos and Vietnam, who shared insights into their community management and development initiatives.
The workshop is scheduled to run for ten days, from Feb. 10 to 19, 2025, bringing together youth representatives from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to collaborate and present their work on heritage site management.
