The European Union Global Access and Trade Expertise (EU GATE) Project Implementation, funded by the EU and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, was discussed at the Ministry of Commerce on July 31.
The discussion was held between H.E. Ms. TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce; Mr. Koen Everaert, Deputy Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation in Cambodia, and representatives from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Cambodia and GIZ Cambodia.
During the meeting H.E. Ms. TEKRETH Kamrang emphasised that the cooperation and implementation of the EU GATE project will contribute to fostering trade and sustainable economic development by promoting trade competitiveness, building institutional capacity, strengthening the capacity of private sector, and helping to create an enabling business environment.
H.E. Secretary of State also thanked the EU and the Federal Government of Germany for their contributions to the development of Cambodi
a’s inclusive and progressive trade, and affirmed the Ministry of Commerce’s prompt support for close collaboration in implementing this EU GATE project.
For their parts, Mr. Koen Everaert and a representative of the German Embassy reaffirmed the unwavering support of the European Union and the Federal Government of Germany for the Ministry of Commerce and relevant ministries and government agencies involved in project activities, including trade policy, trade facilitation, risk management, digital trade, and SME trade competitiveness.
