CMAA Vice President Holds Courtesy Meetings with Development Partners


Cambodia’s First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) receives two delegations of humanitarian agencies for separate courtesy meetings on May 13 at his office.

One of the delegations was led by Executive Director of Exceed Worldwide Mr. Carson Harte, Director of ICRC Mr. Marc Slot, and Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia in charge of the Australia-Cambodia Cooperation for Equitable Sustainable Services (ACCESS) programme Mr. Connor.

CMAA Vice President H.E. Ly Thuch, who is also a senior minister, thanked the three teams for their active support, especially for people with disabilities as well as landmine victims.

Their contribution has allowed those people and their community access to education, vocational training, and business start-up opportunities.

In another meeting with a delegation of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation of the United Kingdom, the CMAA vice president spoke highly of the team’s assistance, particularly in building awareness a
mong community people to keep themselves safe from landmines and explosive ordnance.

The team also dispatched relief assistance to over 2,000 families of landmine victims during the outbreak of COVID-19.

According to H.E. Ly Thuch, in Feb. 2020, CMAA signed an agreement in the United Kingdom with the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation on Partnership and Humanitarian Cooperation in the Relief of Landmines and Explosive Remnants of War.
