Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Heng Sour, delivered remarks while presiding over the Closing Ceremony of the Extraordinary Congress of the 9th Mandate (2024-2027) of the Cambodian Council of National Unions (CCNU) this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event marked the conclusion of the congress, which focused on outlining the objectives and strategies for the upcoming mandate of the CCNU. The congress aimed at strengthening the collaboration between various unions under the national council and enhancing the representation of workers across different sectors.
H.E. Heng Sour emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among the unions to address the challenges faced by workers. His address highlighted the government’s commitment to improving labor conditions and ensuring fair practices within the workplace.
The minister also encouraged the unions to adapt to the rapidly changing economic landscape by fostering skills development and vocation
al training. The closing ceremony concluded with discussions on future initiatives and the election of new leaders for the council’s next term.
