Clean Water Coverage in Cambodia Reaches 80%


Cambodia has now achieved 80 percent of clean water supply and the country has set to reach the full coverage by 2025.



The achievement was shared by H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, while receiving here this morning a courtesy visit from Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Ueno Atsushi.



H.E. Minister also informed the Japanese ambassador about the ministry’s policy to promote the rural economy through the construction of infrastructure and improvement of the people’s well-being by educating them about clean water and proper use of latrines aimed at eliminating open defecation.



For his part, H.E. Ueno Atsushi expressed his appreciation for the past partnership between the embassy and the Ministry of Rural Development and pledged to continue closer cooperate in this new mandate of government in order to promote Cambodia’s rural development.
