Chinese President Xi Jinping Arrives in Cambodia for State Visit


Phnom Penh: President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping, made an official arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, marking the beginning of his state visit to Cambodia. This visit coincides with the Khmer New Year celebrations, and President Xi extended New Year wishes to the Cambodian government and its people on behalf of China.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, President Xi’s visit is at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni. The Chinese leader acknowledged Cambodia’s rich civilization and its significant contributions to humanity, highlighting the country’s rapid economic growth under the Pentagonal Strategy. He expressed confidence in Cambodia’s continued development under the leadership of King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Manet.



President Xi emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between China and Cambodia, underscoring the enduring ties nurtured by leaders from both countries. He highlighted the collaboration in building a community with a shared future and in Belt and Road cooperation. The partnership between the two nations has been a model for international relations, contributing to global fairness and justice.



China views Cambodia as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy, with a commitment to supporting Cambodia’s strategic autonomy and development path. President Xi expressed his anticipation to meet with Cambodian leaders, including King Norodom Sihamoni, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and Prime Minister Hun Manet, to enhance the China-Cambodia Diamond Hexagon cooperation. The focus will be on increasing political trust, advancing cooperation, ensuring security, and strengthening strategic coordination to benefit both nations and promote regional and global peace and stability.
