China Explores Investment in Cambodia’s Agriculture Sector

Phnom Penh: China’s Hernan Agriculture Investment Group is exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia’s agricultural sector. The interest was highlighted in a meeting between H.E. Kong Chan Veasna, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and a delegation of the Hernan Agriculture Investment Group in Phnom Penh on Jan. 15.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Kong Chan Veasna underlined Cambodia’s potential agriculture for exports and informed the group’s delegation of the country’s convenient investment environment. He also shared with his guests Cambodia’s agro-industrial park development framework scheduled to be launched shortly.

The framework will help attract more foreign investors to establish agro-industrial parks and agricultural product processing plants for export in Cambodia. The group’s delegation thanked H.E. Kong Chan Veasna for updates on investment in Cambodia and pledged to seek an in-depth understanding for starting their investment soon.
