Beijing: China has allocated 6.66 billion yuan (about 926.5 million U.S. dollars) of funds to bolster rural revitalization initiatives in regions with significant ethnic minority populations. The allocation was discussed at a conference attended by heads of ethnic affairs commissions on Wednesday.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Pan Yue, the director of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, emphasized that the funds aim to support these areas in building upon their poverty reduction achievements and advancing rural revitalization. The focus will be on enhancing development policies related to ethnic affairs, strengthening local industries, and promoting handicraft brands unique to ethnic minority groups to spur high-quality development.
The conference also outlined the key objectives for the commission this year, which include fostering exchanges and integration among different ethnic groups and refining laws and regulations concerning ethnic affairs.
