CGJTA Plans to Create a Gem & Jewelry Research and Training and Institute in Cambodia


Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association (CGJTA) is planning to establish a Gem and Jewelry Research and Training Institute in Cambodia.

The plan was shared by CGJTA President Mrs. Nhet Srey Oun while leading a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.

On the occasion, Mrs. Nhet Srey Oun congratulated the Royal Government on its one-year achievements and briefed the Premier on the CGJTA’s progress.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet praised the work progress of CGJTA as well as the association’s contribution to the promotion of the gem and jewelry sector in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister expressed his support to the initiative to organise a gems and jewelry fair twice a year and the establishment of the Gem and Jewelry Research and Training Institute. He advised the association to continue discussions with relevant ministries and institutions to conduct further studies on the preparation of concept documents an
d action plans for the establishment of the institute.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also encouraged the association to promote the production and processing of local gems to export to foreign markets, build trust and protect consumers and traders of gems and jewelry.
