‘Celebrating Cambodia’ Event to Usher in New Year with Cultural Festivities


PHNOM PENH: The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) is poised to ring in the New Year with a grand celebration titled ‘Celebrating Cambodia,’ set to commence at 3:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024, and continue into the first hours of 2025. The event is a collaboration with various partners and aims to honor the nation’s cultural heritage and achievements.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a press release issued by the UYFC on December 30 emphasized that ‘Celebrating Cambodia’ is dedicated to highlighting the nation’s vibrant culture, achievements, and shared values. The event aims to showcase the uniqueness of Cambodian identity, reflect on past milestones, and inspire national pride. It seeks to highlight Cambodia’s socio-economic progress while preserving national identity and celebrating unity among its people.



The event is designed as a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to express their national pride creatively under the Cambodian flag. It is the inaugural event of its kind and will include a variety of programs such as parades featuring 3,000 participants, folk games, art performances, concerts, a food fair, a New Year countdown, and a fireworks display. The festivities will also include giant puppets, lanterns, and balloons, adding to the spectacle.
