Zhengzhou: Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) H.E. Sun Chanthol, on Mar. 18 led a delegation to promote Cambodia’s investment opportunities in Zhengzhou, China’s Henan province. Accompanied by Cambodian Ambassador to China H.E. Soeung Rathchavy, the delegation, comprising CDC officials, representatives from the Cambodia Oknha Association and Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board, sought to understand the production chains of key manufacturing factories in the city and to foster economic and investment cooperation.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the visit included tours of Zhengzhou Shuanghui Food Co., Ltd., a leading fresh meat packaging and processing company, and Zhengzhou New Silk Road International Port Investment Co., Ltd., a key player in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) focused on port and infrastructure development. A business roundtable discussion was also held with senior officials from Zhengzhou city to promote mutual economic growth, strengthen bilateral ties, and explore potential investments in Cambodia.
Zhengzhou Vice Governor Ms. Li Fengzhi expressed a warm welcome to the Cambodian delegation and briefed the delegation on the latest socio-economic development in Zhengzhou, highlighting the city’s excellent intermodal transport system and its connectivity to major destinations across the country.
For his part, H.E. Sun Chanthol thanked the Chinese side for the warm hospitality. He invited representatives from the Silk Road International Port Investment and other Zhengzhou-based enterprises with investment prospects in infrastructure, industry, automotive, and digital technology sectors to visit Cambodia at an appropriate time to explore investment opportunities. He also reaffirmed the CDC’s readiness to provide support and coordination within legal frameworks.
H.E. Sun Chanthol is currently leading a delegation on a visit to China to promote Cambodia’s investment opportunities and attract more investors.
