CDC Asks Thailand BOI to Continue Cooperating in ‘Plus One’ Strategy Promotion

A Cambodian high-ranking official has requested Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) to continue cooperating in ‘Plus One’ (Cambodia Plus One or Thailand Plus One) strategy promotion, to support private sector’s supply chain in line with potential and resources that both countries can provide to investors.

H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), made the request while he was receiving a Thai delegation led by Ms. Patcharada Nawakawongkarn, Executive Director of Thai Enterprise Development Division of Thailand BOI, at the CDC’s headquarters in Phnom Penh on Sept. 18.

The delegation, composed of representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Thai private sector, has been on a visit to Cambodia to learn more about the Kingdom’s investment potential and opportunities.

The CDC first vice president briefed his guests about Cambodia’s key progress in private investment affairs, under the CDC’s facilitation, and laid stress on the co
untry’s favourable investment environment such as full peace, political and macroeconomic stability, as well as law on investment, investment incentives, and interconnected physical infrastructure.

In reply, Ms. Patcharada Nawakawongkarn promised to consider the aforementioned request, and was highly optimistic about the close collaboration in organising business matching forum between Cambodia and Thailand to boost mutual investment, particularly to encourage more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia.
