Cambodian Tourism Minister Receives a US-ABC DelegationPM congratulates Cambodia on successful 5th Senate election

Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Sok Soken receives here on Feb. 28 a courtesy call from a delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) led by Mr. Jack Myint, Managing Director of US-ABC in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

According to the Ministry of Tourism (MoT)’s press release, the two sides discussed the strengthening of cooperation and partnership between public and private institutions to promote investment and development of highly competitive tourism in Cambodia, and diversify Cambodia’s tourism to become a global leading destination.

H.E. Sok Soken highlighted the launch of the Sub-Decree on the revitalisation of the Cambodia Tourism Board, which will become a mechanism for enhancing cooperation through closer partnership between the public and private sectors in promoting Cambodia’s tourism.

H.E. Minister also encouraged private companies that are members of the US-ABC to promote tourism by increasing their engagement and participation with the Cambodia Tourism Board.

Council discussed Cambodia’s efforts to achieve economic and tourism goals, especially through promoting the diversification of tourism products, as well as the integration and implementation of digital systems for tourism services in Cambodia in the context of emerging global tourism trends on tourism services payment and digital tourism promotion.

At the same time, Mastercard, VISA and META Facebook expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Ministry of Tourism to facilitate the implementation of the strategic plan “BUILD + 3Ds” and especially facilitate the policies of the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy.

Hanoi: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 29 sent a letter of congratulations to his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet on the country’s successful organisation of the Senate election for the 5th term.

The election was held in the form of non-universal suffrage at 33 polling stations in eight regional constituencies across Cambodia on February 25. Its official results are set to be announced on April 2./.
