Cambodian, Thai PMs agree to Further Strengthen and Expand Bilateral Cooperation


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his Thai Counterpart H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra agreed yesterday to further strengthen and expand the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The commitment was made during their bilateral talks, on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

In the meeting, H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra thanked Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for being the first to send

congratulatory message to her over her election as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Thai Premier also expressed her appreciation for the further development of relations and cooperation between the two Kingdoms following the official visit of Samdech Thipadei to Thailand in February.

For his part, Cambodian Prime Minister spoke highly of the progress of Cambodia-Thailand relations, which have been upgraded to the level of strategic partnership in 2024.

Both leaders also di
scussed the further strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation, including the resumption of a number of bilateral mechanism meetings, a study on the possibility of establishing complementary special economic zones, people-to-people connectivity, tourism, and defence and security.

The two Premiers agreed to further foster bilateral cooperation and commissioned the two countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs to facilitate further discussions on the above topics and organise a number of activities to celebrate the 75th Founding Anniversary of Cambodia-Thailand Diplomatic Relations in 2025.
