Khmer Swimming Federation (KSF) will send its sports delegates, coach, and national athletes to attend the World Aquatics Championships 2023 in Fukuoka City, Japan, from July 20 to 31.
The plan was shared by Mr. Hemthon Ponloeu, Coach of Cambodian National Fin Swimming Athletes, adding that the Cambodian athletes include Mr. Morn Tros, Mr. Mean Sovan Arun and Ms. Khin Chanchakriya as well as a coach, Mr. Hemthon Ponleu.
Mr. Morn Tros and Mr. Mean Sovan Arun will compete in 50-metre freestyle swimming and 50-metre butterfly style swimming; while Ms. Khin Chanchakriya in 100- and 50-metre backstroke, he added.
The Cambodian sports delegation, led by Mr. Hem Kiri, Secretary General of KSF, will also join the World Aquatics General Congress from July 21 to 25 in Fukuoka City, at the invitation of World Aquatics.
In the congress, Mr. Hem Kiri will present the progress of the KSF and its efforts to support sports development.
This is the first time Cambodia has been invited among the ten member countries of World Aquatics, and it will be a good opportunity to profile Cambodia to the world.
