Cambodian Senate President Leads Delegation for Official Visit to Lao PDR


Phnom Penh: A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), departed this morning to pay an official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on February 6-7. The visit comes at the invitation of H.E. Dr. Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the Lao National Assembly.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during his two-day stay in Lao PDR, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will engage in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Saysomphone Phomvihane. He is also scheduled to hold working discussions with H.E. Dr. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Lao PDR, and co-chair the 15th CPP-LPRP Summit with H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of Lao PDR and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).



The delegation accompanying Samdech Techo Hun Sen includes prominent members such as Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, and Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, all of whom are members of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and Vice Presidents of CPP. Also included in the delegation are H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chairman of the CPP’s Foreign Relations Committee, along with other members of the Senate and National Assembly, and key leaders of the Cambodian legislative body and the CPP.



“The visit of Samdech Techo Hun Sen as President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the CPP, to the Lao PDR will provide new momentum in strengthening and promoting the comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao PDR,” highlighted the press release from the Senate General Secretariat.
