Cambodian Products Showcased at Francophonie’s Day Celebration in Japan


Phnom Penh: Cambodian Products were displayed at the Francophonie’s Day Celebration at the French Institute of Tokyo on Mar. 16, to promote markets in Japan and find more partners to import and export Cambodian products. Cambodian potential products put on display on the occasion were fragrant rice, cashew nuts, Kampot peppers, dried mango, Mondulkiri coffee, palm sugar, Krama Khmer (Cambodian scarf), and souvenir items, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was organised by the Council for the Promotion of Francophonie in Japan. The Francophonie event featured exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, and various trade promotion activities with the aim of strengthening friendship and cooperation between French-speaking countries, as well as promoting culture, tourism, and investment opportunities, with participation from 19 French-speaking countries.

Cambodia will host the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, and during the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, the
Cambodia Pavilion will also participate in the promotional activities in order to enhance the Francophonie at the request of the OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie).
