Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has emphasized the necessity of resolving land and maritime boundary issues between Cambodia and Thailand through legal mechanisms. While presiding over the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s recapitulative meeting, he highlighted the importance of negotiating the Overlapping Claims Area (OCA) with mutual respect and shared economic benefits, while upholding sovereignty.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister firmly dismissed allegations of personal gain involving his family and Thai leaders from development projects in the OCA. He stressed, ‘There is no collusion for the benefit of my family and the Shinawatra family.’ He urged that the resolution of these issues should be transparent and involve various partners, ensuring the public benefits from shared economic gains.

ting border and economic issues to ensure public benefit. He appealed to politicians to avoid creating conflicts or inciting public unrest, underscoring that the border issues remain under negotiation.
The Prime Minister noted the support from international entities, including France, China, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, for the development project in the Cambodia-Thailand OCA, highlighting the shared goal of benefiting the people in both countries.
