Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, this morning reacted against the policy on foreign migrant workers of Thailand’s Move Forward Party, which came out top in recent election.
At a get-together with some 17,000 factory workers at the Camton Industrial Park in Kandal province’s Ponhea Leu district, the Cambodian Premier said any plan to expel foreign migrant workers, especially Cambodian, Lao and Burmese workers, may cause dramatic impact not only on the three countries’ economy, but also on the Thai economy which has been employing foreign migrant workers.
“Under the caretaker government, led by H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, millions of illegal foreign workers have been granted legal status, but if they are expelled, there will be impact on the Thai economy,” he said.
This policy will not gain support from Thailand’s neighbouring countries, the Cambodian Prime Minister underlined.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also shared some of his insights on Thailand’s current political situation, saying that the winning party should look farer as “winning the election does not mean you become the Prime Minister. Up to 376 votes are needed to form a government, not just 151 votes.”
