Cambodian PM: Governance, the Biggest Core of Pentagonal Strategy

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has emphasised that public reform is one of the priorities of the 7th-mandate Royal Government, while governance is the biggest core of the Pentagonal Strategy.

‘In the Pentagonal Strategy, as well as in the previous Rectangular Strategy, the biggest core is governance. Governance means keeping our house clean. Before going out to look at other people’s houses, we have to keep our house clean and comfortable so that we can do a good job of serving the people. This view must continue,’ the Premier explained at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Inspection held here this morning.

Besides, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged the Ministry of Inspection to further enhance its internal capacity building, adding that the renaming of the ministry, from the Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection to the Ministry of Inspection, confirms the Royal Government’s will to sharpen the ministry’s duties to pla
y a more active role on behalf of the Royal Government in strengthening the governance.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also called for more attention to reform, governance strengthening, and institutional modernisation to become a modern public administration which is highly capable, strong, smart and clean.
