Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, today sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Ishiba Shigeru, new Prime Minister of Japan.

‘On behalf of the Royal Government and people of Cambodia, it is a great pleasure to extend my heartfelt congratulations upon the Diet’s endorsement of you as Prime Minister following your victory in the Liberal Democratic Party’s leadership election on 27 September. With your extensive experience in both parliament and government, I am confident that, under your able leadership, Japan will continue to prosper and the Japanese people will enjoy further growth and prosperity,’ he wrote.

Cambodia and Japan enjoy excellent bonds of friendship and close bilateral ties, underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges and practical cooperation in multiple fields, the Premier underlined, adding that in 2023, both countries’ bilateral relationship reached a new milestone after being elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

‘I express my
readiness to work closely with you to deepen this new partnership for our mutual benefit, as well as for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond,’ he continued.

‘While I look forward to meeting you at the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Lao PDR, next week, please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and best wishes for your good health and success in your noble endeavours,’ Samdech Thipadei concluded.
