Cambodian PM Encourages Filipino West Point Alumni to Forge Ties with Cambodian Counterparts


Manila: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, was in Manila where he received a delegation of Filipino alumni from the West Point Military Academy. The delegation, led by Mr. Cris Acosta from the Class of 1982, paid a courtesy call on February 10 during the Prime Minister’s official visit to the Philippines.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the spokesperson for Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister reported that Mr. Cris Acosta, representing the West Point Alumni Association, conveyed his gratitude to the Cambodian Premier for the opportunity to meet. He extended best wishes for the success of the Prime Minister’s trip while sharing experiences and memories from West Point with his fellow alumni.



Mr. Acosta also informed Samdech Thipadei of the group’s plans to visit Cambodia soon. In response, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at meeting Mr. Acosta and the alumni delegation. He reminisced about his own experiences at West Point and welcomed their upcoming visit to Cambodia.



Samdech Thipadei encouraged Mr. Acosta and the alumni to build connections with Cambodia’s own West Point alumni, as well as with alumni from other Southeast Asian nations.
