A high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation, led by Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the Cambodian National Assembly, arrived in Vientiane, Lao PDR this evening for the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45).
The delegation received a warm welcome from the leadership and senior officials of the host parliament, according to the Cambodian National Assembly.
H.E. Khamchanh Sotapaseuth, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Lao PDR, along with officials from the Secretariat-General of the Lao National Assembly, greeted the delegation at Wattay International Airport. They were joined by H.E. Hulkrang Phanang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Lao PDR, and his associates.
At the invitation of Honourable Dr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of Lao PDR and President of AIPA-45, Samdech Khuon Sudary is leading the delegation to attend the AIPA-45 General
Assembly in Vientiane. The assembly aims to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and promote regional and international cooperation for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
As planned, Samdech Khuon Sudary will attend the Executive Committee Meeting with Heads of Delegation of AIPA members to discuss and approve the programme and agenda of the AIPA-45 General Assembly the next morning.
The Opening Ceremony of the AIPA-45 will officially take place on the morning of Oct. 19, 2024.
