Cambodian National Billiard Team Leaves for Chinese 8-Ball World Championship in China

Cambodian billiard players have left here to attend the Chinese 8-Ball World Championship’s qualifying round in Yushan city, Jiangxi province, the People's Republic of China.

Speaking at Phnom Penh International Airport before the departure on Saturday, Mr. Mara Socheat, Secretary General of Cambodia Billiards and Snookers Federation (CBSF), underlined that the Cambodian billiards players include Mr. Men Sophanith, Mr. Som Samnang, Mr. Duong Bunthoeun, Mr. Sieng Kosin and Mr. Lun Saochetapheam.

They are the best players selected from the SEA Games 2023, underlined the secretary general, expressing his optimism that the Cambodian team will excel and bring good results for the nation.

The event will also be a good opportunity for the Cambodian athletes to sharpen their capacity for the 33rd SEA Games 2025 in Thailand, he added.

To take place from Oct. 10 to 22, this major qualifying round will attract the participation of about 500 athletes from countries around the world, Mr. Mara Socheat said.

The final of Chinese 8-Ball World Championship will happen in December in China.
