Cambodian National Athletes to Get Trained for the 19th Asian Games in China

Cambodia will send its national athletes for training in China for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province of the People’s Republic of China.

The update was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), adding that some 160 Cambodian national athletes from 12 kinds of sports will depart in August to get trained in China, and some of them who are qualified will be selected to join the 19th Asian Games there.

Between 150 and 250 Cambodian delegates, coaches, and athletes will also leave for the 19th Asian Games, said H.E. Vath Chamroeun.

NOCC is preparing a plan with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the National Sports Training Centre to urge the National Sports Federations for the 19th Asian Games to gradually retrain their athletes locally after the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

The 19th Asian Games will take place from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 with the participation of athletes from 45 countries, he added.

According to H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Cambodia has attended such an event twice so far, first in 2014 in the Republic of Korea with a gold medal and second in 2018 in Indonesia with three medals—two gold and one silver.
