Cambodian NA President Meets Iranian Ambassador to Discuss Cooperation Expansion


Phnom Penh: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from H.E. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Cambodia, at the NA Palace here this morning. The meeting touched on the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the two countries, particularly between their legislative bodies.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Ali Akbar Nazari expressed his strong commitment to tightening the ties of friendship between Cambodia and Iran for the interests of both countries and their peoples. The Hanoi-based diplomat sought continued support from the Cambodian NA president for his current missions with Cambodian ministries and institutions in the fields of trade, economy, petroleum, gas, and health.



For her part, Samdech Khuon Sudary noted that there are still many potentials to be explored and studied to expand cooperation between the two nations. She highlighted that good cooperation not only benefits both countries but also contributes to building peace, sustainable development, and prosperity globally, especially in the current fragile and rapidly changing world situation.



The NA president and the ambassador also agreed on the value of parliamentary diplomacy. They emphasised that parliamentary diplomacy is increasingly important in maintaining peace and meeting the aspirations of the people.
