Cambodian NA President Leads Delegation to South Korea for World Summit


Seoul: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of the Kingdom of Cambodia, is leading a high-level NA delegation to participate in the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) World Summit 2025, taking place from April 9 to 14 in the Republic of Korea.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is a global network of families, international and interfaith organizations, representing members from all religions, governments, civil society, and the private sector. The Federation operates on a non-partisan basis to promote peace and unity worldwide.



UPF holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and maintains representative offices in over 120 countries, including Cambodia.



During this annual summit, Samdech Khuon Sudary is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote speech at the first plenary session. Additionally, she will present another keynote address during a roundtable discussion as part of the summit’s program.



As part of the official visit, the Cambodian NA President will also visit Hanyang University, one of Seoul’s leading academic institutions. Samdech Khuon Sudary will preside over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Hanyang University and the General Secretariat of the Cambodian NA. This partnership aims to enhance capacity-building and provide training in information and communication technology (ICT) for members and officials of the Cambodian NA.



Furthermore, the Cambodian NA delegation will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Cheon Won Gung royal palace in Gyeonggi province.



On the sidelines of the UPF World Summit 2025, Samdech Khuon Sudary plans to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with various international delegations. These discussions aim to strengthen and expand diplomatic friendships, cooperation frameworks, and mutual understanding between peoples, with a focus on promoting investment, trade, education, tourism, and agriculture to benefit Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
