Vientiane: H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, the Cambodian Minister of Commerce, recently engaged in a strategic dialogue with H.E. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Second Cambodia-Laos Joint Trade Committee Meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the courtesy call, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul provided the Lao Prime Minister with a detailed briefing on the outcomes of the joint trade meeting. Both nations expressed a commitment to enhancing their trade relations, agreeing to explore cooperative potential and strategies to increase bilateral trade volume. They discussed the establishment of mechanisms to expand trade, annual meetings between border provincial administrations, and initiatives to enhance cooperation in fields such as transport infrastructure, exhibitions, business and investment forums, tourism, logistics, and collaboration between their respective chambers of commerce.
H.E. Sonexay Siphandone conveyed his support for the initiatives discussed and urged relevant ministries, institutions, and border provincial administrations to work together more actively to drive trade and investment growth between the two neighboring countries.
