Cambodian Lawmakers Visit Northern Lao City of Luang Prabang

A high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation visited the northern Lao city of Luang Prabang on Tuesday, at the invitation of the Lao National Assembly.

The delegation was led by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly.

Delegates joined those from other parliaments attending the General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) that concluded Monday to visit the Xieng Thong Temple, the Luang Prabang Museum, and the Kuang Xi Waterfall.

The visit of the Cambodian delegates strengthened the rich and long-standing ties between the two countries’ ancient civilisations and enhanced people-to-people contacts. Such ties are the foundation for strengthening cooperation in diplomacy, tourism, culture, economy, and trade, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

Luang Prabang, one of the oldest cities in Lao PDR and one of its most famous cultural tourist destinations, was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1995
