Battambang: The General Directorate of Consumer Protection, Competition, and Fraud Repression (CCF) of the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the RCEP Implementation Support Programme (RISP), hosted a workshop focused on the ‘Implementation of Competition Law, Consumer Protection Law and Related Regulations’ in Battambang province on Friday.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the workshop was led by Mr. Sin Sideth, Deputy Director General of CCF, and Mr. Pheng Sithy, Deputy Governor of Battambang province. The event also featured Ms. Faith Considine, Second Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, along with representatives from various business associations including the Chamber of Commerce, Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs Association, Young Entrepreneurs Association, and Cambodian Small and Medium Enterprises Association. Participants also included vendors, women-led businesses, and students.
The workshop aimed to enhance awareness among key stakeholders about the Competition Law and Consumer Protection Law. It sought to encourage dialogue and create a platform for public and private sector engagement to tackle challenges and identify support requirements for law enforcement.
Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, address challenges, and discuss solutions. The focus was on maintaining communication and promoting compliance with the laws and regulations for efficient and effective implementation.
