Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping this morning reaffirmed their commitment for common destiny and prosperity.
The commitment was made during their talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, as part of Samdech Thipadei’s official visit to China.
In the meeting, H.E. Xi Jinping extended a warm and cordial welcome to the Cambodian Premier, and emphasised that Cambodia-China friendship is like a huge tree with deep and strong roots.
The Chinese top leader congratulated Samdech Hun Manet on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Cambodia and was convinced that the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two countries will continue to grow stronger under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei.
He took the opportunity to send his greetings and love to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Supreme Privy Council of His Majesty the King, who had overcome all obstacles and external pressures to maintain and strengthen the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the Chinese side for the warm welcome, and conveyed greetings from Samdech Techo Hun Sen to H.E. Xi Jinping. He also thanked the country and the people of China for their attention and warm welcome to His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk during their stay in China for their routine medial visit.
Both leaders discussed the continuation of friendly policy between the two countries. H.E. Xi Jinping reaffirmed that China will remain a good friend and will continue to help Cambodia in its economic development, while Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reiterated Cambodia’s adherence to the One China Policy.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that the long-standing Cambodia-China relations have been bearing fruit in all fields, especially economy and education. The current development and progress of Cambodia are inseparable from China’s support and cooperation, particularly in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this regard, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted the direction and areas of future cooperation between the two countries, such as energy, food security, and investment.
